Welcome to MRE Security, your one-stop shop for cybersecurity-related content. Founded by Evan Isaac, MRE Security is here to help aspiring professionals enter the industry.
After mentoring students at university, Evan discovered that many college students are lost trying to break into the industry. With universities starting to advertise cybersecurity as a major, students need to have a mentor within the field who can guide them. However, only a few show the reality of cybersecurity to their students. MRE Security was founded to provide and assist these students with proper mentorship. MRE Security isn’t only for college students but anyone looking to break into the cybersecurity industry. We understand how difficult it is to pick a niche within the field, become proficient, and land a position. That’s why we are here to help.
Evan Isaac is a graduate of Roger Williams University who studied Cybersecurity and Networking. During college, Evan realized how difficult it was to obtain an internship and gain a foothold in the industry. He merged his original Discord, Cybersecurity and Coding, with the Republic of Hackers (RoH) Discord. After the merger, RoH grew and created an environment where he could learn about penetration testing and other fields within the cybersecurity industry. Through networking, he landed several internships and his first full-time employment as an Offensive Security Consultant. After graduating, he began to mentor aspiring cybersecurity professionals and spoke about his journey through cybersecurity at conferences. Additionally, he started to identify CVEs on Free Open Source Software (FOSS) applications during is free time, growing his resume and advancing in the field.
The first release of MRE Security will feature blogs each week discussing various topics in cybersecurity. These blogs will be tailored to aspiring professionals looking to enter the industry. Some will relate to resume and interview tips, CTF writeups, tools used within the industry, certifications, and more. The blogs are endless, and we plan to deliver them each week.
If you don’t like to read, including myself, we will attempt to correlate each blog with a video edition so you can see and hear what we are talking about in a practical sense. This is especially beneficial when CTF writeups and tool discussions are present. We will dive deep into the technical stuff and explain everything so you can learn and grow your skillset.
Additionally, there will be unique videos related to cybersecurity topics that may not show up on the blog, so be sure to subscribe to the MRE Security YouTube channel.
The What Makes You Different Podcast, hosted by MRE Security, will feature professionals who share their experience, expertise, and guidance for aspiring professionals. It’s always great to hear about other people’s paths and why they chose this field.
Please use this contact form if you would like to appear on the show. Someone from MRE Security will respond with details.
